Out of the Fire, Into the Frying Pan

Moved all my stuff to my Mom's 2 days before. Its true you never know how much stuff you have until you have to move it all...

I'm settling fine in my Mom's place for now, and other than her downloading habits, everything seems to be great! So right now I'm working on my game development portfolio, which as of now only includes 2 projects, a J2ME Mobile Game called Bunnies In Love using the Disney license which me and a team made during my internship with UnrealMinds, and the not-so-recently developed Blanktris I made about 6 months ago.

I do not have the source code for Bunnies In Love, so sadly I'm unable to improve it any further. In fact, I'm even considering removing it from my portfolio, if only I had more games to show...

Blanktris on the other hand, I can improve. I have a list of improvements to make with it and boy, its a long list. I was originally thinking of making a sequel, Blanktris 2, but after thinking about it for awhile, I feel that I have to be firm on my own policy of NEVER making any kind of sequels for any game (to make way for creativity). So.. I'm going to build Blanktris from the ground up again, bigger and better than the original, but I'll still be continueing the versioning. Since the 'final' version of Blanktris was v1.6, prepare to see the new and improved Blanktris at about v2.something.

Since Blanktris, at its initial form, took about 3 weeks to make, I'm expecting something similar for the new facelift, but I'm gonna do abit more planning and scheduling to make sure I do this right. I will try to include the status of the game after every blog post.

Blanktris Status: v1.6: PLANNING STAGE DAY 1

Malaysia export electronic goods, furniture, oil, palm oil, rubber, textile, timber……….and multi-lingual human talents.

There is nothing wrong with those who choose to stay overseas. As highlighted in my view, even my best mate and the best man for my wedding has sown roots in Singapore - I definitely don't "begrudge" him for that.

To me, do not begrudge them who are justly reaping the fruit of their hard labour and paying back a debt to the hand which fed them. It is very difficult to continue to love your motherland which does not love you in return.

There is nothing wrong with having different philosophies in life and taking the route that best fit those philosophies.

And what facilities (hardware and software) do we have to offer? Besides, what financial package could local varsities offer? Last but not least, the factor of critical mass. Can some one find the like-minded colleague to pursue what he is researching right now?

I have heard those "Malaysia Truly Asia" commercials on CNN over and over. I always felt the slogan was rather fishy. But you have supplied important details about matters that I only had a vague awareness of.

Why don't you do something to challenge the slogan? After all, Malaysia is discriminating against people of the two main nations in Asia, China and India. How dare the Malaysia government claim to represent the true Asia?

There is a theory say that Malaysia may suffer in 50 years time because all the best brains will leave the country once and for all because of the affirmative policies. Brain drain still takes place even today and tomorrow, and forever as long as the government protect particular race and particular industry.

If the theory is correct (time will tell), then the so-called world class universities will stay as dream forever. To be world class, there should be 100% open policy with fair play field.

To sum up the things, the affirmative policies should go. However it won't take place very soon or even be forever.

Bolehland is still in denial syndrome.

Hello everyone………My parent was spent over RM300K to send me to oversea study medicine. Why can't I study at Malaysia University? Everyone knows why.

I am agree that Orang Asli was the real bumis but not the malays. Malays claim themselves the bumis just sound like robbery.

I was a Buddhist, I got study about Bible, Hindu, and Quran over this few years, but I seriously doubt that is the Quran correct? Why suicide bombers are almost always Muslims? What make them kill innocent people and strongly believe that he/she will go to heaven? Not in any other religion.

Nowadays, I understand one fact, if you want to make good friend with malays, the best and the simple, useful way is talk Quran and Islam with them, criticise other races, e.g. American or other religion with them, they love you like anything.

Sorry to say, I know is not polite and not moral to do, but it was my real experiences. It make me remember one incidence - one of my patient, a old malay female, telling me that tsunami was the punishment of Allah to the white people, I wonder and ask why, she said because the white dominated the world and Allah unhappy……….sound crazy, if I not mistake, most sanctifier was Muslims right?

And tsunami landed in Muslim countries anyways. Of cause I can't argue with her, it might make her blood pressure gone up and kill her, and I become murder……….oh God, no way.

My family, my girlfriend very much encourage me to emigrate oversea, like Australia, UK, US but just……….I can't left without my family, and our 'comrade' Indians, I am very depress about that.

If God offer me the power, I would move all non-Muslims out of Malaysia. And one friend told me that, sound crazy and nonsense, but fun to think of……….all non-Muslims over the world must spend all the money to US government, let the Americans build a nice city in moon, then we peacefully send all Muslims to moon and let them be, they can kill, fight, eat each other, boom here and there, and it was nothing to do with us, non-Muslims in the peaceful earth……….hahaha.

In history, teacher said that we must accept this injustice because the malays let us to live here as one of their citizens, if it wasn't of their tolerance, we wouldn't be here - during the time before we independence, they keep objects of we existence on this country until they achieve an agreement, where they are the more superior ones.

Shit……….Brainwash, nowadays even the text books about our country history can't be trusted, they intended to brainwash the younger generation so that they might thought that it was the malays who are the ones who made Malaysia like this today!

But what can we do since such issue is sensitive in our country, talking against it will cost we severely……….And they say, Malaysia is a democratic world.

Just because malays are the majority doesn't mean that the minorities should be oppressed. Of course there are some good people from that ladder - I have met a few awesome and smart malays……….the weird thing although is that they all went to Chinese schools. I am not sure if that is actually related, but I thought that was very weird.

But I think the special privileges should be removed. They were only supposed to be there (as agreed by other parties) that the malays would receive the special privileges for a set number of years. This set number of years is over!

The standard of the government machinery has already dropped to rock bottom. In fact, this day a few will believe what the government says.

Police personnel in Malaysia are provided with proper training. The issue with regards to their efforts at preventing criminal activities seems to be more a case of willingness rather than ability.

What are the factors which might cause police personnel to be unwilling to perform the required duties. The Royal Commission might have an answer. I venture to suggest that it was a case of general mismatch between efforts and rewards in the society.

Look at Johor, when less tourist come, they accused the media for highlighting the crimes that happened in the city. Those who don't know or never heard before the criminal activities in Johor will you please stand up. Those who haven't heard before that to obtain your car license you have to give money to officer will you please stand up.

This is just another episode of the BN-lead government all these years, who has cover up their failure and publishing the success they had done to the people.

How can they improve when they know that they can cover up their failure. How can we Malaysians feel save when the BN-lead government always cover up all the stories that might deteriorate the image of the country!

The prime minister personally cannot possibly do much to solve all the recent problems. Neither can anybody else in the cabinet. Nobody will want to dirty their hands for fear of losing the opportunity to enrich themselves while the money is still there.

The government knows the problems but always chooses to cure the symptoms rather than the causes. Government leaders are only loyal to their race and religions, but not patriotic to the nation.

The end results is power vested in official positions were retailed for personal gains, hence the malaise we see everywhere.

It just boils down to the failure of not practicing meritocracy; getting the right people to do the job; round pegs to round holes and square pegs to square holes. It just needs to establish hire and fire system; just fire those rubbish who are incompetent, irresponsible and unaccountable

This race stereotyping is actually the work of the present day government, headed by the Umno racist using race and religion as a tool to stay in power.

The native of this land a.k.a. son of the soil are the Orang Asli (Dayak, Jakun, Sakai, etc) in Peninsula and the natives (Dusun, Iban, Kadazan, etc) of Borneo. Not you malays arrogant pieces of shit!

Before the arrival of Islam into Malaya, the different races live in harmony without questioning religion or race. They may be cultural different but they accepted each other.

After independence, race was used by the Umno racist, and then formulated the NEP, which divided everyone. The Umno fascist used Islam in schools, universities and workplace to segregate, and in the name of fighting PAS.

The modus operandi of Umno has always be, divide and rule, and the devil is in the details and implementation of the religious department.

Umno is king creating diversion when they are cornered, use race and religion. Race and religion is the most explosive issues and they have used it successfully since independence.

All this is done to perpetuate their hold on political power. It is to Umno benefits to play the race card, because this is the only way to ensure their hold on to political power. And 50 long years have proven them right. The race card works well and works every time!

They have succeeded in keeping the races apart socially, and fanned animosity amongst the races with their racist and discriminatory politics.

All give politically reasoning - well here goes a correct one - malay is lazy because of Islam.

How can one pray 5 times and yet be expected to be productive? Wait for the foreigners to come and set up their factory and having to cater for Islam needs!

If malays embrace other religion then there is hope for Malaysia……….otherwise your hope is in the existence of Umno terrorist liars - don't count on them being there forever - we are factoring in Umno racist absence in our business plan!

The problem with malays is that they forget too easily. It was the Chinese, Indians and Malays who fought for the independence.

The NEP was design to help malays catch up with the Indians and the Chinese. Now looks like after 40 years, the malays are still behind and very proud of it.

Still want to receive handouts from the government! Still afraid to fight it out on fair ground with the Chinese, Indians and the other races! Fearful is the malay race!

Without the government subsidies and support - I don't know how many malay businesses will still stand? So when can we see some towering malays and who dare to refuse government help and still succeed? Grabbing other people success and call it your own success is not success but a disgrace!

Their laziness caused the nation's economy to slump and resources are wasted. They take 5 days to complete 1 day work. Malays always think that they are helping the other races when they are lazy. For God sake, please wake up! You are doing it for your own, not for anybody!

Majority of the nation need to be educated again. On the meaning of Malaysia.

Does anyone really expect Pak Lah to full frontally outright challenge the malay special rights?

Even if he wants to, he can't, Umno will disown him. I like to think that when he mentioned subsidies, he was thinking of the special ones the malays receive as well.

Everywhere I go, it is the same. The malays expecting the government to enforce this or that special privileges. The Chinese expecting the government to pull back those special privileges.

Malays are deteriorating in social and moral values so fast in the last few years that we shudder to think what is going to happen in the next few years!

Apostasy, incest, molest, rape, sodomy, unwed pregnancies cases are getting out of hand and spreading throughout the country!

Islam in Malaysia is a total disgrace. Malays are a disgrace lot. In due time they will take their proper place among the Orang Asli and the Orang Asli will have moved on.

So many malay youths are incarcerated in drug rehabilitation centres, prisons, and that so much money is being wasted on these social delinquents!

A genetically flawed race (babiputras) cannot be fixed by politically. Nature will take its course and globalization will put them out to pasture.

What have we got now?

Brain drain, economic disparity getting wider, poor education system, racial segregation, widespread corruption, inefficiency and uncompetitive on the government departments and others.

Likewise, fixing the nation's problems begins with you - all of us.

Malays are lazy, narrow-minded, racist, in the real world. But they blame Chinese, Indians, white man, for many things. No wonder many person label malays as disgrace animals.

It is good for malays to go back to jungle (balik kampung) or Africa, in order to avoid so many problems. Enough said.

Like what one said, your Umno racist label is to just rob the benefits and rights of the poor and unassuming malays, who think that you are fighting for their cause. Whom are you trying to bluff?

There is nothing to be proud of Ketuanan Melayu. If at all, it is only the personification of the ills facing the malays in general today.

Minus the nation building and economics, you malays are left with only politics - right before and after independence. Creeps like you should find out and address this - talked and discussed problem which does not seem to go away.

If even after almost 50 years, and after all the generous handouts, you are still a bitter man, lamenting at our Chinese and Indians successes, then go back and do a bit of homework to find out why you need to talk less and work more.

Everyone knows that they worked and struggled to build a nation, I mean sweated it out. Lest you forget history, the Chinese and Indians came here to build a country which was largely neglected. Ask yourself why?

Their sweat and pains may have been forgotten by selfish creatures cloaking in disguise in the likes of you, but this Malaysia nation shares a rich history of the "other races" contributing to the nation building, which you cannot be proud of.

Well, there are always guys like me who have tried and have been continuously denied the opportunity to "serve" this country, basically with the race card thrown at me.

Look around yourself and tell me as honestly as you can - be whether under such circumstances, I would have reasons to love this country? Unless you have a different definition for that word "love"!

To further prolong the grips of the Umno racists over the greed others, especially the Chinese, is been made the scapegoat for all things.

A fear that had has no concrete socio-economical standings. It is more psychological. For that all the Malaysians are been pull and push into the self-dug hole of only Ketuanan Melayu matters most. All things are secondary.

He forgets that what he has been written is just like the saying: spitting skywards and get own face smeared.

Such a mind is wasted by simple forms rather than the deep down substances, show this guy's mind is as empty and twisted. The saddest part is that Umno racist can write better, indicating a higher level of 'education' but more tunnel understanding of historical facts. His education is wasted, and another basket case of form over substance.

From what Umno racist has been written, it can be seen that these malays are still at the balls despite of the facts that the globalization will eventually making their factitious claim obsolete.

Many would like to dispute and point to whatever reports that claimed glories for all the developments stated for Malaysia now. There is only one word for this spurious cry - form over substance. Please think deeper to reflect this.

Just think about how Philippine goes down the drain under Marcos government. Sadder still, we are not catching up with the top. Instead we keep comparing ourselves with the bottom and sliding down the rank as we "proudly" proclaimed these achievements. How pathetic can one be!

Most of my family on my mother side resides in Malaysia and I have been there many times. I think that many of these facts are true, but from what I see when I am in Malaysia is that, most the Malaysia economy is dependant on the Chinese population.

I have no empirical data on this but my observation is that the Chinese population is harder working and more entrepreneurial on average than the malay population.

I not reside in Malaysia and yes, most of the statistics posted, if not all are true. We even call it here as the "crutch" the government use to help the malays walks.

The government has the intention of dominating profitable businesses in this country. They even use the taxpayers money to save ailing malay government-linked companies, e.g. MAS (the national airline) with losses of over RM1 billion.

I guess much of this has something to do with the fact that most malays are jealous of the business acumen of Malaysian Chinese businessmen. It is our taxpayers money, for goodness sake!

Scholarships in local universities for deserving non-malays, especially the Malaysian Chinese people are always denied whereas the number of malay students (regardless of socio-economic status) with average results being sent overseas in thousands for expensive tertiary education, is increasing year by year. Meritocracy is definitely not practised by the government here.

On the outside the Malaysia society is in racial harmony. But deep down there is discontent amongst the Chinese and Indian community in Malaysia toward the government pro-malay policies.

It is just that we can't do anything because we are the suppressed minority as malays make up 60% of the total population whereas other races only constitute about 40%.

The malays are generally (not all of them) full of pride of their own race to an extreme and are emotional people.

I reckon bloodshed would happen if we were to openly and publicly oppose the ruling government. It has happened in Malaysia in the 1960s, where many Chinese in Malaysia have fought against the malays and died in the process for equal rights and treatment.

Maybe it will happen again in the future, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of history repeating itself.

Other than that, our representatives in the parliament are nothing but a bunch of bustards, that are placing more importance in debating aloud about making bow ties compulsory in the parliament and making countless other stupid comments, instead of discussing important issues like how to increase productivity and such.

Could any of you readers out there tell me what the very country is this? I just don't understand why we are paying these people through our taxpayers money. It is obvious that they are not doing their job.

It is just that the minorities here in Malaysia have to work harder than the malays to earn a decent living due to denied opportunities and unequal treatment. I am pretty sure liberal countries would help the minority but it is the other way round in Malaysia.

I am a Malaysian, I was born and brought up here, I have many a sweet memory in Malaysia, but due to all these factors, I just can't bring myself to shout out "Malaysia, I love you!"

I have nothing against my malay friends. They were lucky to be born into Malaysia. It is the government that is the root of all problems. It is dumbfuck pathetic. Let the truth be open to the world.

So I hope that the Malaysia government will learn from the lessons history had to learn the hard way and treasure their economically very active minorities and try to keep them in the country.

By the way, I am not Chinese. My grandmother is Chinese but my grandfather is from a mixed European-Indian background and my father is white. I am not putting the races against each other, I am just stating my honest observation from my numerous visits to Malaysia.
